Perform various sample analyses, instrument upkeep, and meticulous sample preparation and data management for the Ag Chemistry Department within the LSU AgCenter's School of Plant, Environment & Soil Science.
Responsibilities
- Perform various sample analysis including carbon/nitrogen analysis
- Perform instrument upkeep and maintenance to ensure sample integrity and quality
- Retrieve and/or process samples for the laboratory
- Receive samples into the laboratory management system
- Dry samples in the oven
- Grind dry samples in preparation for various analyses
- Conduct general laboratory upkeep, including regular cleaning and maintenance of laboratory spaces, instruments, and glassware
- Perform sample data entry and management
Requirements
- Two years of general laboratory experience OR
- Completion of an accredited clinical laboratory or medical laboratory technology program OR
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in medical technology, nursing, clinical laboratory science, or a biological, physical, or chemical science OR
- Certification as a Laboratory Animal Technician or Laboratory Animal Technologist by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in medical technology, nursing, clinical laboratory science, or a biological, physical, or chemical science
- Two years of general laboratory experience, or completion of an accredited clinical or medical laboratory technology program
