Perform routine tasks and simple analysis on hazardous waste samples, utilizing various laboratory techniques to manage waste and ensure regulatory compliance. This entry-level role offers career growth opportunities within the laboratory and across Veolia.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine tasks and simple analysis on hazardous waste samples
- Utilize prescribed procedures following company and regulatory guidelines
- Determine the nature of hazardous substances using wet chemistry methodologies
- Perform fingerprint screens and cyanide analysis
- Gain experience on instruments such as gas chromatographs, calorimeters, flash point testers, ICPs, Mercury Analyzers, Ion Chromatography, pH meter, and Bomb Calorimeters
Requirements
- 2-4 years prior laboratory work experience
- Ability to use laboratory apparatus and equipment safely
- Ability to perform accurate reproducible work
- Ability to define problems, collect data, troubleshoot and draw valid conclusions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline preferred
- 2-4 years prior laboratory work experience required
