Kinetic Construction Line Worker

About This Role

Install, repair, and maintain poles, cables, and conduits for Kinetic's high-speed broadband network. This role ensures safety procedures are followed and requires operating heavy machinery to build and maintain jobs.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain poles
• Install aerial and buried cables with associated hardware
• Run fiber optic and copper cable, both aerial and in underground infrastructure
• Maintain the safety of the crew by providing direction regarding procedures, road safety, and manhole safety
• Attend safety meetings
• Maintain inventory and DOT vehicle inspection records
• Operate heavy machinery and perform routine maintenance
• Install, connect, test, or adjust equipment to set up service for customers
• String cables between structures and lines from poles, towers, or trenches
• Lay underground cable directly in trenches or string it through conduits
• Perform work in accordance with industry and RUS standards

Requirements

• Ability to use construction equipment (digger derricks, bucket trucks, back hoes, trenchers, cable plows)
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
• Ability to work an on-call schedule rotation, including days/nights/overnights/weekends/holidays/overtime
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT certification pre-hire
• Minimum qualifications to obtain a CDL post-hire
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Exceptional time-management and attention to detail for paperwork
