Junior Portfolio Manager

About This Role

This role supports IT project execution and portfolio governance initiatives for a leading organization. It is designed for an early-career professional eager to grow within IT portfolio support and gain exposure to strategic IT governance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project plans, timelines, and budget tracking
• Coordinate project activities, resources, and deliverables
• Help business units complete business case templates and gather cost estimates
• Monitor project progress and prepare status reports for stakeholders
• Track risks, issues, and action items and support timely resolution
• Maintain portfolio documentation, standards, and workflows
• Compile weekly and monthly portfolio health reports and visual dashboards
• Support financial tracking, including invoices and project budgets
• Coordinate Portfolio Steering Committee meetings, including agendas and documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field
• 0–2 years of experience in project coordination, business analysis, or related roles
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• Exposure to PPM tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and/or ServiceNow
• Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field
• 0-2 years of experience in project coordination, business analysis, or related roles

Nice to Have

• CAPM, PMP, Agile certification, or foundational knowledge of ITIL
• Experience supporting IT or technology-focused projects
• Detail-oriented, proactive mindset with a desire to learn
• Comfort working across multiple projects and stakeholders
• Interest in long-term growth within project, program, or portfolio management
