About This Role

This role involves providing hands-on technical expertise for solar PV plant sites, focusing on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment issues, particularly for PV arrays, inverters, medium voltage systems, and battery storage. The Journeyman Electrician will ensure safe site operation and compliance with company protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair system failures on existing solar sites
  • Identify and correct potential issues impacting future site performance
  • Perform equipment assessments, diagnosis, and modifications
  • Develop solutions to site operations issues and communicate with operations teams
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and perform regular preventative maintenance
  • Qualify equipment and systems for use or replacement, including warranty matters
  • Install, remove, maintain, and direct the maintenance of solar, BESS, and other related electrical equipment
  • Ensure a safe, event-free work environment through strict adherence to safety procedures and regulations
  • Prepare and review service tickets and reports for site visits, emergency repairs, and equipment modifications
  • Communicate with customers, engineers, technicians, project managers, and client sub-contractors

Requirements

  • CA Journeyman license
  • 1+ years of electrical experience with electrical license
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices
  • Clear understanding of OSHA safe workplace practices and procedures
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams as well as other construction/DAS/design drawings or permitting documentation

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of electrical experience

Nice to Have

  • Inverter and/or BESS manufacturers’ certifications
  • Thermography certifications (Level 1)
  • IT/networking skills: familiarity with RS485, Modbus, tcp/ip
  • NABCEP PV Installer Certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Completion of NFPA 70E courses
  • CPR/First Aid
