Journeyman Electrician

About This Role

The Journeyman Electrician supports and coordinates all electrical work for customers, supervising Electrical Apprentices and performing installations and repairs on HVAC equipment, electrical panels, and other residential electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Electrical Apprentices, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety and quality standards
• Conduct evaluations, provide feedback, and ensure proper training for Electrical Apprentices
• Perform knob & tube assessments and IC rated light assessments, providing documentation or quotes
• Repair damaged light fixtures, wiring, fuses, or other electrical components
• Install electric thermostats, bath fans, and electrical components for heat pumps, boilers, and furnaces
• Perform service and panel upgrades and knob and tube remediation
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations
• Pull and close permits as required for projects
• Complete necessary paperwork, documentation, and reports related to electrical installations and inspections
• Obtain and keep all required permits and licenses up to date for each project

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Journeyman Electrician License issued by the appropriate regulatory authority
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Journeyman Electrician
• Basic fundamental knowledge of using a computer
• Thorough understanding of electrical principles, practices, techniques, codes, and regulations
• Ability to troubleshoot and interact with customers and crews
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
