IT Software Developer

About This Role

This role is for a Software Development Professional who will design and develop software and unit tests as part of the Firmware/Software team, focusing on Functional Safety projects within Research & Development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software and unit tests for automation products
• Review process and design documents
• Perform code reviews for automation products
• Perform complex software design and development tasks
• Design subsystems
• Participate in requirement and design reviews
• Participate in code reviews of project software
• Implement unit tests
• Understand standards, specifications, and other documents to implement assigned tasks
• Work independently to resolve technical issues – including issue analysis and the preparation of reports
• Implement quality and process improvements
• Participate in the creation of project schedules and adhere to those schedules

Requirements

• 0-3 years in software development
• Proficiency in C# or JAVA programming language
• Understanding of object-oriented design methodologies
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Demonstrates good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science, or BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering with demonstrated software design and development knowledge
• 0-3 years in software development.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency with NUnit or JUnit
• Proficiency with XML
• Familiarity with Industrial Automation control systems (e.g., PLCs, TIA Portal)
• Fundamental LAD and SCL language programming
