Support the Amtrak Police Department (APD) by analyzing general intelligence and counterintelligence information to assess threats from foreign intelligence services and international terrorist organizations. This role involves identifying intelligence gaps and assisting in developing collection programs related to force protection, technology protection, and information operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze threat information concerning U.S. passenger rail operations, U.S. freight rail operations, international rail operations, U.S. surface transportation operations, and any threat targeting the continental U.S., reporting findings promptly to APD.
- Provide tactical analysis and produce high-quality intelligence reports.
- Support criminal intelligence functions and provide criminal intelligence analysis training as needed.
- Develop analytical reports and trend/method assessments.
- Interpret complex intelligence reporting.
- Act as scribe in Command Post settings.
- Produce technical intelligence assessments on counterterrorism issues.
- Monitor and analyze threats related to passenger, freight, and international rail operations.
- Study global terrorism trends and methods.
- Research civil unrest or protests impacting passenger rail operations.
- Produce high-level intelligence products for APD and Amtrak executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in intelligence agencies (CIA, NCTC, FBI, ODNI, DoD, TSA, DHS, DOT, NYPD, military tactical intelligence cycle operations)
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility and lifestyle polygraph
- 10+ years of intelligence work at a federal intelligence agency
- 5+ years providing threat analysis, indications and warnings, and protection of critical infrastructure, with emphasis on passenger rail operations
- 5+ years in counterterrorism analysis and reporting
- 5+ years as an intelligence analyst, reports writer, facility security officer, and/or briefing officer
- 3+ years with knowledge and experience in the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI)
- Instructor certification through DoD or an accredited civilian higher education institution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of intelligence work at a federal intelligence agency, with 5+ years providing threat analysis, indications and warnings, and protection of critical infrastructure, and 5+ years in counterterrorism analysis and reporting. Also, 5+ years as an intelligence analyst, reports writer, facility security officer, and/or briefing officer, and 3+ years with knowledge and experience in the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI).
Certifications
Instructor certification through DoD or an accredited civilian higher education institution
