Integration Developer - Boomi

About This Role

As an Integration Developer, you will be a key member of Deloitte's AI & Engineering team, transforming technology platforms and driving innovation for clients. You will develop solutions to streamline business processes, manage APIs, and implement EDI solutions, contributing to significant impacts on client success.

Responsibilities

• Design complex integration solutions following industry best practices and leveraging various integration design patterns.
• Develop and implement solutions that adhere to established enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Design, build, and manage APIs using API Management capabilities, ensuring secure and efficient communication between systems (REST/SOAP).
• Implement and manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes, including configuration of trading partners, profiles, and standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT).
• Develop, test, and deploy integration processes across environments (Test, UAT, Production), managing the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Monitor integration performance, proactively identify and resolve issues, and provide expert-level post-deployment support.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for designs, configurations, data mapping, and architectural decisions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize data flows and adhere to industry best practices in integration development.
• Take ownership of assigned integration projects, manage expectations, and guide junior team members toward successful project delivery.
• Utilize AI features (e.g., Boomi GPT, MuleSoft Vibes) to accelerate development, automate documentation, and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Boomi platform and related integration products.
• Previous experience working in a consulting firm environment or within a relevant industry sector.
• 1+ years' experience working on other integration platforms such as MuleSoft, IBM Websphere processor, TIBCO business works, Workato, Google Apigee, Azure Logic Apps.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration design patterns, API protocols (REST/SOAP), XML, JSON, and data mapping.
• Proficiency with all core Boomi components including connectors (Database, FTP, Web Services, ERP specific), process building, and robust error handling.
• Strong proficiency and experience in writing custom Groovy and JavaScript code within the Boomi environment for complex logic and data manipulation.
• Experience with EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and implementing EDI solutions, including understanding of common documents (810, 850, 856, etc.).
• Experience with rational databases and strong SQL skills.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC methodologies.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language - Spring Boot, JavaScript or Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Boomi platform and related integration products; 1+ years' experience working on other integration platforms.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Boomi Agent Studio, Agent Step, Agent Control Tower, and pre-built agents like DesignGen, Scribe, and Pathfinder.
• Exposure to and understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
• Experience integrating specific enterprise systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, HCM, Workday, etc.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Boomi Professional Level Certifications (Administrator, Architect).
