This independent contractor position supports the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA)'s Strategic Threats Department by preparing and presenting instruction blocks for the Fundamentals of Strategic Arms Control Course. The Instructor/Facilitator will provide instruction on the history of strategic nuclear arms control treaties and agreements, and participate in discussions on U.S. nuclear arms control policy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present instruction blocks on the history of strategic arms control (1968-present)
- Present on selected topics pertaining to INF, START, and New START treaties
- Provide expert perspectives on arms control concepts, national security priorities, and relevant treaties
- Participate in panel discussions during the course regarding relevant arms control treaties, agreements, and risk reduction measures
- Provide draft briefings and student materials to the government for approval prior to class start dates
Requirements
- In-depth experience negotiating and/or implementing bilateral arms control agreements and treaties
- Experience as a member of on-site teams or a negotiating body for arms control
- Work contributing to the formation of arms control policy through engagements with the arms control community (USG, private sector, academia)
