About This Role

This role involves assisting certificated teachers with the instruction, supervision, and care of students within Alternative Education programs. The Aide will help maintain an effective learning environment and perform instructional and clerical tasks to support classroom activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist certificated teachers in the instruction, supervision and/or care of assigned students
  • Maintain an effective learning environment
  • Perform a variety of instructional and clerical functions in support of assigned classroom activities and programs

Requirements

  • Completion of 12th grade or equivalent
  • Proof of 48 semester or 60 quarter units of higher education OR ability to pass ESSA exam
  • Ability to obtain a California driver's license
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certificates

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Additional specialized training in child development, education, or a related field is desirable. Proof of 48 semester or 60 quarter units of higher education or passing the ESSA exam.
  • Some experience in working with high-risk students is desirable.
