About This Role

This role assists certificated teachers in the instruction, supervision, and care of students within Alternative Education programs. The Instructional Aide will maintain an effective learning environment and perform various instructional and clerical duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assist certificated teachers in the instruction, supervision, and/or care of assigned students in the Alternative Education programs
  • Maintain an effective learning environment
  • Perform a variety of instructional functions in support of assigned classroom activities and programs
  • Perform clerical functions in support of assigned classroom activities and programs

Requirements

  • Completion of twelfth grade or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain California driver's license
  • Ability to obtain CPR and first aid certificates
  • Ability to meet the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirement (48 semester or 60 quarter units of higher education OR ESSA exam)

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
  • Some experience in working with high-risk students is desirable

Nice to Have

  • Additional specialized training in child development, education, or a related field
  • Experience in working with high-risk students
