About This Role

Assist in the installation of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories under direct supervision. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining company property and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Installer or Lead Installer in the installation of HVAC equipment and accessories in customer homes
  • Help install heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications
  • Assist in the installation of ducts and duct fittings
  • Deliver excellent customer service and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Assist in the delivery and removal of equipment needed for installation work
  • Assist in ensuring company property, vehicles, and tools are properly used, maintained, and accounted for
  • Complete all paperwork neatly, accurately, thoroughly, and timely as needed
  • Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters
  • Keep installation vehicle clean and neat, both inside and outside
  • Report any unsafe acts, conditions, hazards, or contraventions of legislation/company policy to direct supervisor/manager immediately

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0 to 2 years’ experience in HVAC with technical training certification preferred
  • Valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, provincial, or local governmental laws or regulations for the geographical work area
  • EPA and safety certifications
  • Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of the operational functionality of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment as well as related accessories
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to operate, or learn to operate, all necessary tools and equipment
  • Basic skills in reading wiring diagrams
  • Effective communication skills
  • Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units
  • Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions (hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and congested areas)
  • Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity rated ladders with a 30lb tool belt
  • Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with additional training in HVAC
  • 0 to 2 years with technical training certification preferred

Nice to Have

  • Technical training certification in HVAC
