About This Role

Assess and manage the nutritional status of assigned patients, implement nutrition care processes, and educate patients and staff on therapeutic diets within an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, interpret, plan, monitor, and document the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using evidence-based standards of care
  • Perform a nutrition-focused physical exam on patients
  • Identify and provide age-specific nutrition care and meet the cultural needs of patients and their families
  • Work within an inter-disciplinary team to provide a plan of care to achieve the patient's health goals
  • Educate patients, care givers, students, and other health care colleagues on the effect of therapeutic diets and nutrition support
  • Provide support and supervision to the daily infant formula preparation routine, including identifying and calculating recipes
  • Participate in department activities to enhance patient satisfaction
  • Keep current on nutrition research and incorporate into daily practice

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Licensed as a Dietitian with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (within 6 months of hire)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or Family & Consumer Science with ACEND requirements completed

Nice to Have

  • Master’s Degree
