Manage and lead the global block storage estate, focusing on large-scale SAN and Software-Defined Block Storage infrastructure while ensuring availability, performance, capacity, and security. This role involves coordinating global teams, planning upgrades, ensuring compliance, and aligning storage strategy with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global storage strategies, roadmaps, and policies
- Manage large SAN environments, Software-Defined Storage including provisioning, zoning, upgrades, and performance tuning
- Build, mentor, and lead globally dispersed storage operations teams
- Work with network, server, security, and application teams to resolve issues and support business needs
- Proactively plan for capacity, monitor utilization, and resolve performance bottlenecks
- Implement security patching, access controls, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee third-party vendors and manage budgets
- Manage and lead over the entire global block storage estate including both software-defined and legacy storage array technologies
- Manage a 24x7 follow the sun operations and support model for delivering seamless storage services to internal customers
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive and distinguished experience as a senior storage/technical leader in a large (global) enterprise environment
- Deep knowledge of SAN/SDS Block Storage technologies (e.g., Dell, NetApp, Pure Storage, IBM)
- Experience with Operating Systems (Linux and Windows)
- Experience with Fibre Channel (Cisco and Brocade)
- Experience with IP Networking (NVMe-of-Fabric and iSCSI)
- Experience with X86 Hardware (Dell and/or HPE)
- Proven ability to lead, set vision, and manage large-scale operations
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex, multi-zone issues
- Ability to create scalable, sustainable operational models
- Excellent communication, cross-cultural management, and stakeholder management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
- 10+ years of progressive and distinguished experience as a senior storage/technical leader in a large (global) enterprise environment
