This seasonal Human Resources Generalist role at Six Flags Fiesta Texas focuses on managing daily HR operations, particularly recruitment and onboarding, to ensure a positive experience for team members. The role involves engaging with candidates, maintaining staffing levels, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand and demonstrate Six Flags' Culture, Values, and Company Policy
- Manage daily operations of the Employment Center, including applicant interviews and new/re-hire processing
- Handle incoming and outgoing calls, maintaining excellent communication standards
- Track I9 documentation and ensure compliance with employment laws
- Assist in maintaining optimal staffing levels and conducting pre-employment/background checks
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the Employment Center office
- Coach team members on company policy and relevant employment laws
- Maintain data accuracy by inputting and updating employee information in the hiring system
- Assist with various HR projects and training initiatives
- Represent Six Flags at recruiting events to attract potential candidates
- Support initiatives to foster a positive and healthy work environment
- Collaborate with other HR teams and departments to achieve common goals
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, vibrant team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral format
- Discrete approach to sensitive, confidential and complex employee relations issues
- Demonstrated strong written/verbal communication and facilitation/presentation skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Intermediate computer skills with MS Office
- Strong sense of initiative and ability to work well with limited supervision
- Friendly, outgoing personality, and the desire to interact with candidates
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- 1+ year experience in Human Resources, customer service or sales preferred but not required; 1+ year of Theme Park experience or experience in a fast paced, high volume environment
Nice to Have
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in Human Resources, customer service or sales
- 1+ year of Theme Park experience or experience in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Familiarization of UltiPro/UKG, Optim8, Smartsheet, and ICIMs
- Data entry experience
