The Payroll Strategy and Operate Manager guides clients in analyzing and improving payroll processes, recommending technology options, and leveraging automation. This role involves leading teams, delivering work, designing efforts, and contributing to strategic planning and growth within the Human Capital practice.
Responsibilities
- Guide clients to analyze current payroll processes, identify pain points, and offer solutions
- Advise clients on technology options to improve Payroll functions, leveraging automation and GenAI tools
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for team outputs
- Lead teams, deliver work, and design work efforts
- Actively participate in the sales process for strategic planning and practice growth
- Provide input into selecting, developing, and growing staff
Requirements
- 6+ years of related experience in Payroll operations
- 6+ years of Consulting experience
- 4+ years experience leading requirements gathering workshops or facilitating meetings
- 4+ years experience participating in vendor selection processes (RFPs, RFIs, scoring, evaluating)
- 4+ years experience leading teams in full project lifecycle (Business Analysis, Functional Specification, System Configuration, Design, Testing)
- 4+ years experience with payroll software products such as ADP, UKG, Workday, Oracle Cloud, or SAP/SuccessFactors and system infrastructure
- Ability to travel up to 50% on average
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 6+ years of related experience in Payroll operations and 6+ years of Consulting experience.
Nice to Have
- 4+ years experience working with global Fortune 500 firms
- 4+ years experience working with HR and/or Workforce Management (WFM) payroll functions and processes
- 4+ years experience developing and mentoring junior staff members
- 4+ years experience interacting at all levels within a client organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- 2+ years experience creating advanced Excel models (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Experience developing client-ready PowerPoint presentations for executive-level audiences
