About This Role

The Human Capital Payroll Strategy and Operate Manager guides clients in analyzing and improving payroll processes, leveraging technology and automation while leading teams and supporting strategic growth within the practice. This role focuses on enhancing key aspects of clients' businesses through cutting-edge technology and deep Human Capital expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Guide clients to analyze the current state of payroll processes, identify pain points, and offer solutions
  • Advise clients on technology options to improve Payroll function, leveraging automation and GenAI tools
  • Demonstrate leadership experience and be self-accountable for team outputs
  • Lead teams, deliver work, and design work efforts
  • Actively participate in the sales process for strategic planning and practice growth
  • Provide input into how to best select, develop and grow people

Requirements

  • 6+ years of related experience in Payroll operations
  • 6+ years of Consulting experience
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience leading requirements gathering workshops or facilitating meetings
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience participating in the vendor selection process (client and supplier sides) including RFPs, RFIs, scoring and evaluating products and services
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience leading teams in the full lifecycle of projects including Business Analysis, Functional Specification, System Configuration, Design, Testing
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience with payroll software products such as ADP, UKG (formerly UltiPro), Workday, Oracle Cloud, or SAP/SuccessFactors and system infrastructure
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years of related experience in Payroll operations and Consulting experience. Minimum of 4 years leading requirements gathering workshops, facilitating meetings, participating in vendor selection, and leading full lifecycle projects.

Nice to Have

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience working with global fortune 500 firms
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with HR and/or Workforce Management (WFM) payroll functions and processes, with a strong understanding of business needs and challenges, strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience developing and mentoring junior staff members
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience interacting at all levels within a client organization
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio and PowerPoint, with at least 2 years' experience creating advanced Excel models (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and developing client-ready PowerPoint presentations for executive-level audiences.
