Housekeeping/Laundry Aide

About This Role

The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide performs day-to-day cleaning and laundry activities to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, adhering to federal, state, and local standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping and laundry functions as assigned
• Follow work and cleaning schedules closely
• Report all accidents/incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services
• Follow established safety precautions and infection control practices during tasks
• Clean and sanitize furnishings, fixtures, floors, windows, walls, and ceilings
• Dispose of refuse daily and clean vacant rooms as assigned
• Maintain adequate supply of housekeeping materials and keep equipment clean and properly stored
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and honor resident rights

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or possess an executed work permit
• Ability to understand the English language
• Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds and solutions

Qualifications

• 8th grade education
• None required. On-the-job training provided.
