The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas within the medical center, ensuring a neat, orderly, sanitary, and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean equipment, surgical areas, storage areas, furniture and beds
- Clean spills and flooded areas
- Deep clean, sanitize rooms, mattresses, vents, and bathrooms
- Operate electrical cleaning equipment
- Strip, clean, and polish floor and wall surfaces; vacuum carpet areas
- Dilute cleaning solutions
- Collect and dispose of waste, including bio-hazardous medical waste, according to policies and procedures
- Coordinate housekeeping functions with other departments
Requirements
- Ability to communicate and follow directions in English
- Moderate to heavy lifting ability
Nice to Have
- One (1) year of experience in environmental services department in an acute care setting
- Experience within Environmental Services in a Medical Center environment
- HS Diploma/GED
