About This Role

Provide a clean and safe environment for staff, visitors, and patients within the hospital by cleaning and disinfecting various areas, replenishing supplies, and disposing of medical-related items.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect various areas within the hospital to maximize infection prevention, enhance patient safety, and increase visual appeal
• Prepare patient rooms by replenishing supplies, cleaning the floor, and making the bed
• Collect, store, and dispose of numerous medical-related items from patient treatment areas
• Perform project work such as cleaning carpets and refrigerators
• Communicate/interface in an effective and positive manner with hospital staff, patients, and visitors
• Follow written and verbal instructions and communicate by telephone
• Initiate communication with peers about priorities for tasks to be done

Requirements

• Able to communicate/interface in an effective and positive manner with hospital staff, patients, and visitors
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions

• Able to stand and walk throughout the day to perform job duties
• Must be able to lift up to 50lb
• Comfortable working around blood and bodily fluids (with the use of personal protective equipment)
• Ability to preserve confidential information
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
• Comply with safety standards
• Able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and twist on a frequent basis

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
