Housekeeper

About This Role

Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of a senior living community, including residents' apartments and common areas. Provide comprehensive housekeeping services while also assisting with dining room operations like serving meals and bussing tables.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housekeeping for the community and individual resident apartments, including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning
• Clean the main entryway, common areas, dining room, hallways, patios, and resident apartments
• Clean and defrost refrigerators, clean and check heat system filters in resident apartments
• Change beds and linens, and ensure adequate linen supplies in each apartment
• Turn mattresses (with assistance) as necessary and empty waste baskets
• Provide deep cleaning of apartments as needed, paying special attention to main entry areas, carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures
• Launder all linens by washing and drying in the provided laundry facilities
• Greet residents and guests, serve beverages, cereals, soups/salads from the cart
• Review the menu, take resident orders, and serve meals and desserts
• Bus and clear dishes from tables after meals and reset for the next meal following proper sanitizing procedures

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
• General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
• Ability to retain orders (up to four at one time)
