Heavy Equipment Operator

About This Role

Operate heavy equipment to safely load, haul, and dump materials, optimizing cycle times and collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

• Operate various pieces of heavy equipment for loading, hauling, and dumping materials
• Safely build pioneer roads in native terrain
• Load trucks safely and efficiently
• Set up dumps for optimal cycle times, striping and separating organized materials for loading units
• Perform pre-trip inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments
• Maintain equipment in excellent working condition, report and log maintenance needs
• Communicate effectively with team members across different disciplines

Requirements

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Valid MSHA P. 48 with surface, metal and non-metal

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating various types of machinery in a general construction, heavy civil or mining environment is an asset

Nice to Have

• Previous experience operating dozers, excavators, graders and water/haul trucks in general construction, heavy civil, or mining
