Heavy Equipment Operator

About This Role

Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, graders, and haul/water trucks on construction and mining sites, focusing on safely loading, hauling, and dumping materials while optimizing cycle times.

Responsibilities

• Operate various pieces of heavy equipment toward loading, hauling, and dumping materials
• Safely build pioneer roads in native terrain
• Load trucks safely and efficiently, setting up dumps for optimal cycle times, striping, and separating organized materials
• Perform pre-trip inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
• Maintain equipment in excellent working condition, report and log maintenance needs
• Communicate effectively with team members across different disciplines

Requirements

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating various types of machinery in general construction, heavy civil, or mining environment would be an asset

Nice to Have

• Previous experience operating dozers, excavators, graders, and water/haul trucks in construction, heavy civil, or mining
