Heavy Equipment Mechanic

About This Role

This role involves servicing and maintaining a variety of mobile heavy equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and collaborating with foremen and purchasing agents for repairs and parts ordering.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies
• Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
• Lubricate all lube points on equipment
• Communicate with shop foreman or site foreman for scheduling and status of repairs
• Communicate with vendors and purchasing agent for parts ordering
• Identify the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
• Examine vehicle and Identify any possible maintenance issue
• Replace parts such as lights, brakes, bearings, springs, etc.
• Service items such as gearboxes, hydraulic systems, engine oils
• Perform basic shop clean up (floors, windows, walls, etc.)
• Control costs on all repairs

Requirements

• Current Drivers License
• Reliable source of transportation
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2-5 years of previous experience preferred

Nice to Have

• 2-5 Years of previous experience
• Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
• Basic computer skills
• Experience with diagnostic tools
