Heavy Equipment Mechanic

About This Role

Perform inspections and repairs on heavy construction equipment, including yellow iron and paving equipment, in a safe and effective manner at job site locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and repairs on Heavy Construction Equipment (Yellow Iron and Paving Equipment)
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with Engine, Transmission/Drivetrain, Hydraulic, Electrical, A/C, On Board Computer and Electronic Control Modules
• Work on various types of equipment including excavators, dozers, rollers, and loaders
• Provide diagnostic skills for various heavy equipment systems
• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment
• Work on Diesel Equipment from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Road Tech, and Gomaco

Requirements

• 2+ years experience in Heavy Equipment Maintenance
• Troubleshooting and/or diagnostic skills for Engine, Transmission/Drivetrain, Hydraulic, Electrical, A/C, On Board Computer and Electronic Control Module
• Experience working on Excavators, dozers, roller, loaders, etc.
• Ability to work on Diesel Equipment; Caterpillar, John Deere, Road Tech, Gomaco, and other major equipment manufacturer machinery
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and capable of following directions and effectively work in a team environment
• Ability to recognize and react to safety related issues
• Flexibility and willingness to work weekends as needed
• Good attitude is a MUST

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in Heavy Equipment Maintenance

• Welding / Fabricating experience
• Computer skills
• Field experience
