Healthcare Revenue Cycle Senior Consultant

About This Role

As a Senior Consultant on the Healthcare Solutions team, you will be responsible for helping clients improve financial performance, accelerate new digital ventures, and fuel growth through innovation within the healthcare revenue cycle. Work in a team-based environment, partnering directly with clients and fellow Operations Transformation practitioners to reimagine and re-engineer operations and processes.

Responsibilities

• Work on engagements in a team-based environment, partnering directly with clients, fellow Operations Transformation practitioners, and Deloitte consultants from complementary disciplines
• Help lead workstreams within the context of a larger engagement
• Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop actionable recommendations
• Help present team's findings to senior client stakeholders
• Implement recommendations
• Begin to build long-term trusted advisor relationships with client counterparts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 4+ years of professional experience in revenue cycle operations in a health care provider, consulting, or technology vendor environment
• 3+ years of experience in translating requirements into optimized designs, and identifying design alternatives and implications on functionality, effort, performance and operations
• 3+ years hands on experience with PowerPoint
• 3+ years experience leading workstreams and/or small teams within the context of a larger project
• Ability to travel 50%, on average
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 4+ years of professional experience in revenue cycle operations in a health care provider, consulting, or technology vendor environment; 3+ years of experience in translating requirements into optimized designs, and identifying design alternatives and implications on functionality, effort, performance and operations; 3+ years experience leading workstreams and/or small teams within the context of a larger project.

Nice to Have

• Experience in one or more revenue cycle functions: Patient Access, Coding, Revenue Integrity, HIM, Charge Integrity, Patient Financial Services
• Proficiency and experience with financial, billing and reimbursement data
• Working knowledge of the UB-04, MA claim form, HCFA-1500, claim form and claim scrubber
• Experience with hospital and physician financial and patient accounting systems (EPIC, Cerner, Soarian, SMS, McKesson, Invision, HBOC, MEDITECH, IDX, Eclipsys)
• Experience with tools that enable gathering insights through advanced analytics (Python, Tableau, etc.) and querying language (SQL)
• Basic understanding of automation and machine learning techniques as it applies to healthcare
• Advanced degree in business or health care-related field (e.g., MHA, MBA)
