About This Role

This role primarily supports the development of effective early learning services, providing staff development, coaching, and technical assistance to enhance school readiness for children and families. The Coach ensures services are culturally, linguistically, and developmentally appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and develop relationships with ESD staff, subcontracting partners, and community agencies to build resources and expand program capabilities
  • Consult with internal and external staff on suspected incidences (e.g., child abuse, injuries, diseases, safety issues) to maintain children/family's health and safety and adhere to policies
  • Coordinate program services in designated content areas (e.g., education, family support, health, nutrition, disabilities) to ensure fidelity and quality implementation of early learning services
  • Create and implement training and coaching plans to develop and enhance required staff competencies
  • Model and coach site staff on culturally, linguistically, and developmentally appropriate comprehensive service delivery through differentiated staff development and onsite coaching
  • Organize and analyze data, develop, and maintain manual and electronic documents, files, and records for information and documentation
  • Participate in workshops, meetings, community events, and conferences to convey and/or gather required information
  • Participate in monitoring activities (e.g., site visits, observations, reports) to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and PSESD policies
  • Prepare written materials (e.g., program assessments, work plans, newsletter articles) for training, documenting activities, providing reference, and conveying information
  • Provide data-informed training, coaching, and technical assistance to subcontractors regarding program standards and regulations for designated content areas

Requirements

  • Professional experience coaching, mentoring, and/or providing technical assistance in health, nutrition, and/or safety-related fields
  • Specialized knowledge or experience with specific populations including low-income families, English language learners, children with disabilities, and/or mental health concerns
  • Experience providing group or staff training and/or teaching adult learners
  • Experience working on a cross-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of common pediatric health conditions, safe early learning environments, and/or early learning nutrition protocols

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, nutrition, or related field of study, or Associate’s Degree in same areas and progressively responsible job-related experience
