Health Educator III (Childcare Health Consultant)

About This Role

Perform work of moderate difficulty in a public health setting, providing services, education, support, and advocacy through public health programs to individuals, families, groups, businesses, and community organizations. This role supports early childhood programs by improving health, safety, and quality, focusing on infection control, nutrition, injury prevention, and care for special needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health and safety inspections and guide programs in quality improvement plans
• Provide direct in-person and virtual support, training, and technical assistance to childcare centers throughout Cochise County
• Assist childcare facilities to develop policies, procedures and protocol that support best practices in health and safety
• Collaborate with early educators, public health and community partners

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field
• 1+ year of experience in public health, healthcare, or school health setting
• 1+ year of experience in mental health, behavioral health, nutrition, health education, oral health, environmental health, and/or emergency management
• Valid Arizona driver's license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education in a health-related field such as public health, nursing, health education, social work, behavioral health, or similar degree
• Minimum one (1) year of experience working in mental health, behavioral health, nutrition, health education, oral health, environmental health, and/or emergency management; minimum one (1) year of experience working in public health, healthcare, school health, or similar setting
