About This Role

This role primarily provides customer service to the public, attorneys, and court staff, while accurately processing court documents and files. The Deputy Clerk ensures the integrity of official court documents and supports courtroom operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional customer service in person, by phone, and by email
  • Process and file court documents in compliance with Arizona statutes and court rules
  • Handle payments, receipts, and daily reconciliations in accordance with Minimum Accounting Standards
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical case files
  • Prepare and issue certified copies, orders, and other court documents
  • Support courtroom operations by attending hearings, recording minutes, managing exhibits, and operating equipment
  • Enter and verify data in electronic case management systems
  • Assist with jury operations, including data entry and juror check-in
  • Work collaboratively with judges, attorneys, and staff to ensure accurate case processing
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of progressively responsible administrative experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and the ability to be covered by County insurance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of progressively responsible administrative experience (court or legal experience preferred) for Deputy Clerk I; 1 year experience as a Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court for Deputy Clerk II

  • Court or legal experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish
  • Knowledge of office and clerical practices, court operations, and basic accounting
