About This Role

Supervise and support front-end associates, manage customer transactions, and maintain checkout area operations to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction at Lowe's.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Proactively greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers recommending products and services
  • Move throughout the checkout area to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • Provide SMART customer service through daily execution of Lowe's policies and procedures
  • Listen to and respond knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, guiding them through the store
  • Communicate product, program, and warranty information to customers
  • Coach, develop, provide feedback, and train associates in departmental duties
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register
  • Provide proper monetary change to CSA Front End associates
  • Supervise, coach, and support the CSA Front End Team (Front End/Loaders)
  • Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls or take messages
  • Open additional registers as needed to ensure sufficient coverage
  • Assist in line vesting to help quicker turnaround time for checkout
  • Prepare register area at the beginning and end of shift, confirming functionality and stocking supplies
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages
  • Enter and submit customer orders, print tickets, verify receipts, and sign off on loading tickets
  • Review and place online orders and returned merchandise in appropriate areas
  • Look up product information and competitor prices for price match verification
  • Record all items used in the store on store use lists
  • Obtain safety bags from the cash office and monitor cash in drawers to ensure compliance
  • Monitor merchandise entering and leaving store entrances and exits, assisting customers or associates who trigger alarms
  • Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, communicating to management
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and Zone Recovery to maintain cleanliness
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including daily safety reviews and keeping aisles clear
  • Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to job duties
  • Operate store equipment as needed depending on role and department

Requirements

  • < 1 year of experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information)
  • < 1 year of experience using common retail technology (smart phones and tablets)
  • 1-2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier

Nice to Have

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • 1-2 years of experience as a head cashier
  • 1-2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience in any field
  • < 1 year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
