About This Role

The Head Cashier is responsible for overseeing self-checkout operations, providing excellent customer service, and supervising front-end associates. This role ensures efficient transaction processing, maintains store cleanliness, and adheres to safety and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Proactively recommend products and services to customers.
• Provide SMART customer service by responding knowledgably to inquiries and offering assistance.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register.
• Supervise, coach, and support the CSA Front End Team (Front End/Loaders).
• Prepare the register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies.
• Detec t common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks.
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and safety requirements.
• Operate store equipment such as Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance system.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer
• Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier

Nice to Have

• 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience
• Less than a year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
