This role is for a Senior Consultant - Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer to configure and extend Guidewire PolicyCenter for P&C insurance product and underwriting needs. This person will translate business requirements into technical designs and mentor junior practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Configure and extend Guidewire PolicyCenter to support P&C insurance product and underwriting needs
- Act as a key interface between client stakeholders and Deloitte delivery teams
- Translate business requirements into PolicyCenter configuration and technical design (including product model, rules/workflows, and Gosu-based extensions)
- Collaborate across integrations, data, and adjacent Guidewire components as needed
- Continuously strengthen PolicyCenter expertise
- Contribute to team development by supporting and mentoring junior practitioners
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years consulting and/or relevant insurance industry experience (P&C, Life & Annuity/Group, Commercial, Specialty)
- 4+ years implementing insurance core platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Origami or similar)
- 4 years full lifecycle large-scale implementations (Policy, Billing, and/or Claims systems)
- 4 years of experience working in one of the following sub service areas: Insurance Products, Underwriting, Claims, Billing & Payments, Policy Administration or Distribution
- 1 year experience estimating and planning Large Scale System Implementations
- 2 years of experience managing at least one large Business Integration effort and project team through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, and testing
- Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years consulting and/or relevant insurance industry experience, 4+ years implementing insurance core platforms, 4 years of full lifecycle large-scale implementations, 4 years of experience working in one of the insurance sub service areas, 1 year experience estimating and planning Large Scale System Implementations, 2 years of experience managing at least one large Business Integration effort and project team.

- Advanced degree in area of technical specialization
- CPCU, AIC, ARM Certification
- Guidewire Integration or Configuration certification
- 4 years experience with Guidewire Cloud Claims migration
- Experience delivering via an Agile/Scrum methodology
- A strong Java, Gosu (Guidewire), EJB, BPEL, UNIX background
- Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) tools, Business rules integration
- Experience with technologies like BEA, Sonic, IBM, Oracle, Apache ServiceMix, FuseESB, Camel, Mule etc.
- Strong knowledge and comprehension of standards, specifications, standards bodies (e.g., XML, UDDI, JMS, Web services, etc.)
- Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
