Perform various groundskeeping tasks to maintain the Florida State University properties, focusing on landscaping, maintenance, and equipment operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform groundskeeping maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, mulching, raking, power blowing, weed eating, pulling weeds, and pruning on University properties
- Remove litter and debris from assigned areas
- Assist with landscaping tasks including planting annuals, shrubs, and trees
- Prepare newly landscaped areas with soil excavation and removal
- Spread landscape materials such as pine straw, mulch, or rocks
- Ensure all manual and power equipment is in proper working condition
- Report maintenance problems to the supervisor
- Drive University vehicles as necessary
Requirements
- Completion of 9th Grade
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work in inclement weather
