GIS Solution Engineer Team Lead - AEC

About This Role

This role involves leading and mentoring a team of GIS solution engineers, driving the adoption of Esri technology to address complex business challenges within the AEC sector. The team lead will partner with account managers to strategically guide the technical sales process.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical activities of the solution engineer team, leading technical stages of the sales process
• Mentor the team through active coaching, clear direction, and regular feedback to support sales objectives
• Present, demonstrate, and support selling Esri software and solutions as part of the account team
• Gain access to technical enterprise-level decision makers and lead technical meetings to drive revenue
• Be a technical leader of ArcGIS and a subject matter expert of AEC, demonstrating advanced understanding of sales strategies
• Proactively craft and propose solutions clarifying how GIS brings business value to customers by addressing critical business challenges
• Define and deliver complex strategies aligning Esri technology with largest customers’ business needs
• Design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences within Esri’s largest customers
• Provide configuration guidance and best practices
• Empower others to present at large conferences, trade shows and executive engagements

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
• 3+ years of experience mentoring, motivating, and coaching on a team
• Advanced understanding of current GIS technology, including the full ArcGIS system to demonstrate Esri’s patterns of use in AEC and/or environmental consulting industries
• Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context (hardware, software, storage, security, networking, servers, databases, web services, virtualization, cloud computing)
• Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
• Demonstrated experience of actively participating in a sales process
• Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 50%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, business administration, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications; 3+ years of experience mentoring, motivating, and coaching on a team

Nice to Have

• Leadership experience in AEC or Environmental Consulting roles
• Understanding of Autodesk technology
