The General Manager in Training will assist/oversee daily operations across multiple business units, driving efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction for Love's Travel Stops. This role involves leading a team, managing processes, executing sales strategies, and understanding financial reporting to achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on responsibility for multiple business operations including retail store, fuel, restaurant, fresh kitchen, and truck care.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility through restroom and shower cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and safety checks.
- Drive sales of products and services through efficient ordering, stocking, inventory management, and merchandising standards.
- Assist the General Manager with proper task execution, schedule and cash integrity, and complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Understand financial reporting including analyzing profit and loss statements and implementing changes to capitalize on opportunities.
- Collaborate with managers on talent acquisition efforts.
Requirements
- 2+ years in retail, travel stop, c-store, big box, grocery, or department store management
- 2+ years managing operations with an annual sales volume of $2+million
- 2+ years affecting and deciphering budgets and P&L statements
- 2+ years supervising and training 5-10+ employees
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Ability to work various shift times including days, afternoons, evenings, nights, occasional overnights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
