About This Role

Support plant production operations by performing a wide variety of tasks, including operating simple equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with rework and painting projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate simple equipment including powered pallet jack and tote bin dump
• Perform the set up and breakdown of tote bins and pallets within the plant
• Fill, rake and move tote bins
• Properly stack knocked down totes and pallets
• Repeatedly lift and stack cases of finished product as assigned
• Maintain good housekeeping in assigned area including sweeping, shoveling, raking, vacuuming, hosing, scraping/scrubbing, painting, pulling vines, shoveling snow or sand
• Rework damaged or restricted cases and bags of product
• Clean, sanitize, and rinse production and packaging equipment during plant clean up
• Work on painting projects

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
• Ability to work in noisy environments with varying temperatures (hot/cold)
• Ability to tolerate exposure to dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergens common in manufacturing environments
• Ability to perform repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements
• Ability to work with hands and arms overhead, and in or under equipment
• Manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance
• Ability to operate work related equipment
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ability to climb to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
• Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing
• Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
