Implement behavior intervention plans for children with Autism, working one-on-one to teach new skills and collect data. This role offers training to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and the opportunity to make a significant difference in children's lives.
Responsibilities
- Work one on one with kids to implement goals written and overseen by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Help a child acquire new skills utilizing teaching procedures rooted by science
- Create learning environments that are exciting, fun, and motivating
- Provide feedback and collect data as it relates to the program established for each client
Requirements
- Motivation and commitment to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Willingness to commute to client homes and/or clinics within 30 minutes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Maintain a positive, open, and objective attitude towards others
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to react quickly and respond to sudden movements of the client
- Ability to walk and stand 75% of the workday
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, crawl, and sit on the floor throughout the workday or for an extended period of time
- Ability to quickly move short distances (up to 100 ft) to engage with clients
- Availability to work a full-time shift Monday through Friday (8am-4pm or 11am-7pm)
Qualifications
- High School diploma; College degree preferred
- Previous experience working with children, experience with autism or other intellectual disabilities strongly preferred
