About This Role

This role is responsible for maintaining clean and safe environments for clients by performing various floor care duties, including cleaning, waxing, and repairing different floor types. The Floor Technician will utilize specialized equipment and chemicals to ensure floor longevity and appearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform stain removal, extraction, bonnet cleaning, stripping/waxing, scrubbing/recoating, sealing/grouting, etc.
  • Scrub, burnish, clean, and repair carpeted and non-carpeted areas using appropriate equipment and chemicals
  • Clean floors and stairs by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Move furniture and large objects when necessary, following safety guidelines to prevent injury
  • Maintain the janitor's closet neat, clean, and organized
  • Follow manufacturer's specifications for preparing chemicals and operating equipment
  • Ensure building doors and windows are secure and locked
  • Report to the supervisor regarding necessary repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring additional service
  • Follow all company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move containers up to 49 pounds each
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe chemical handling sheets/documents (usually in English; may be in Spanish when required by state)
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing between 15-25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, lift, stretch, and reach regularly both below the waist and above the head
  • Develop full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
  • Ability to safely climb stairs and walkways without limitation
  • Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (pedals), manual (chopping, pinching, holding, gripping), and wrist movement (repetitive flexion/rotation)
  • Use KBSPresence mobile time tracking software on personal mobile devices

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and move containers up to 49 pounds each. Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe chemical handling sheets/documents.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to operate and use cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies
  • One year of previous floor care experience
