Finishing Operator

About This Role

This role involves overseeing all aspects of the finishing operation, including safety, quality, production, and basic maintenance within a manufacturing environment. The operator will be responsible for operating polishing, buffing, and deburring equipment, performing visual inspections, and preparing materials to ensure efficient production and a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate polishing, buffing, deburring equipment, or saws according to production specifications
• Ensure product quality and meet production goals while minimizing scrap and downtime
• Perform basic maintenance tasks and adjustments to tooling and holding fixtures as needed
• Conduct visual inspections to detect defects, burrs, or damage on finished parts
• Load and unload parts from assigned machines efficiently and safely
• Prepare raw materials for production processes
• Monitor machine operations to identify part defects or equipment malfunctions; promptly report issues to the Team Leader or Supervisor
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with housekeeping and safety standards

Requirements

• Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs
• Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the company
• Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment
• Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures
• Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations
• Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (Preferred).
