Financial Counselor

About This Role

Serve as a Financial Counselor at IVX Health, guiding patients through insurance coverage, financial obligations, and assistance programs in a remote or hybrid healthcare revenue cycle environment. This role focuses on providing clarity and compassion to patients managing chronic illnesses and complex coverage requirements.

Responsibilities

• Discuss insurance coverage with patients, including coinsurance, copays, and deductibles
• Provide balance estimates and explain financial obligations in a clear, approachable way
• Identify and enroll eligible patients in copay assistance or foundation-based financial aid programs
• Complete and manage applications through platforms like AssistPoint and various payer/foundation portals
• Coordinate payment arrangements pre- and post-treatment
• Accurately document all financial communications in systems such as the EMR, practice management platform, and internal tools
• Collaborate closely with both clinical and billing teams to ensure a seamless patient experience

Requirements

• Experience in a remote healthcare role
• Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, payer portals, and EHR platforms
• Strong multitasking skills
• Experience in financial counseling, revenue cycle, or patient billing (infusion or specialty care is a plus)
• Strong communication skills
• Self-starter mindset with excellent organization and follow-through
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in billing, coding, or revenue cycle functions

Nice to Have
