About This Role

This Financial Controller will oversee accounting operations and provide financial insights to a manufacturing organization, serving as a key financial partner to the President and leadership team. The role focuses on ensuring strong financial controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving efficiency through budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a financial advisor to the President and leadership team on operational and financial matters
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including internal controls, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, forecasting, SOX controls, and audit support
  • Lead and manage the budgeting process and support financial analysis and forecasting activities
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast and provide insights and recommendations to improve results
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining a strong internal control environment
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and filings while adhering to GAAP standards
  • Support ERP system enhancements and process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and scalability
  • Maintain scalable accounting processes with clearly defined roles and responsibilities
  • Develop, supervise, and evaluate accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team
  • Safeguard company assets and support overall operational effectiveness
  • Partner with Human Resources and leadership on compensation and benefit-related financial support

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Progressive accounting experience up to a Controller or equivalent role
  • Strong leadership, analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to support change initiatives and effectively partner with leadership
  • Solid technical accounting expertise combined with a process-oriented mindset
  • Experience supporting growth or operational change in a dynamic business environment
  • Proven ability to develop and lead teams in a collaborative setting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working within ERP systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Progressive accounting experience up to a Controller or equivalent role
