Director of Finance And Operations

About This Role

This role is for a Director of Operations Finance who will provide strong financial leadership across production and supply chain functions within a well-established manufacturing organization. The position is highly visible and impact-oriented, embedded directly in the business to drive operational rigor and margin expansion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior finance partner to manufacturing and supply chain leadership
• Provide financial clarity around production volume, efficiency, labor utilization, and overhead absorption
• Connect operational activity to profitability and cash flow outcomes
• Deep dive into cost drivers across materials, freight, labor, and manufacturing overhead
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and strengthen gross margins
• Lead operational input into annual planning and periodic forecasting cycles
• Evaluate automation, equipment upgrades, and capacity investments
• Improve insight into raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods trends
• Strengthen reporting frameworks and operational dashboards
• Guide and develop a high-performing operations finance team

Requirements

• 12+ years of finance experience with meaningful time spent supporting manufacturing operations
• Strong command of production economics and cost behavior in a plant environment
• Experience influencing operational leaders on cost, productivity, and investment decisions
• Comfort navigating both detailed financial modeling and executive-level discussion
• Proven ability to operate in environments focused on performance improvement

Qualifications

• 12+ years of finance experience with meaningful time spent supporting manufacturing operations

• Advanced credentials such as CPA, CMA, or MBA
