This role provides front-line support for Patient Financial Care at Piedmont, handling and resolving in-person, telephonic, or digital customer inquiries and concerns. The agent ensures a consistent experience for patients/guarantors and is responsible for collecting outstanding balances and providing information on service costs and insurance benefits.
Responsibilities
- Handle and resolve in-person, telephonic or digital customer inquiries and concerns related to patient financial care
- Provide patients/guarantors from hospitals and physician practices with a consistent and seamless experience
- Follow up on and collect pre-service, at-service or outstanding guarantor balances when required
- Provide information on estimated cost of services
- Verify coverage for services
- Secure authorization for treatments
- Make appointments for patients
- Explain insurance benefits and information on financial resources to patients/guarantors
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience
Nice to Have
- Bachelors Degree
- 5 years of healthcare Revenue Cycle experience with a focus in Financial Counseling
- Certification with Healthcare Financial Management Association
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative
