Filter Design Summer/Fall Co-Op

About This Role

This internship provides the opportunity to learn and participate in developing advanced RF front-end modules, working with experienced engineers. You will accumulate advanced technical knowledge and skills while exploring potential full-time job opportunities at Skyworks.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced engineers to design/develop RF filters for multi-chip modules
• Design BAW- and SAW-based duplexers, quadplexers, and other RF filters for cellular handset applications
• Perform electromagnetic modeling of filters in their module environment using design tools such as Ansys HFSS and Mechanical, Keysight ADS and Momentum
• Integrate multiple filters and duplexers together, in combination with RF switches, to facilitate carrier aggregation (CA)
• Design evaluation boards and RF modules or portions thereof for optimal filter performance
• Participate and present in design reviews
• Assemble, measure, deembed, and report on the performance of filters and filter modules
• Troubleshoot and resolve design or technical issues
• Collaborate with other engineers and technicians

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program
• Commitment to work onsite for 5-6 months
• Strong desire to learn, grow, and make an impact
• Strong career interest in RF/microwave engineering, electromagnetics, RF filters, microwave acoustics, or RF MEMS
• Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with others
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program

Nice to Have

• Experience with Ansys HFSS and Mechanical, Keysight ADS
• Hands-on experience in the lab using a network analyzer and other RF instruments
