Manage day-to-day field operations for large-scale fiber to the home deployment projects, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications while leading project quality and safety programs. The role involves overseeing financial aspects, subcontractor selection, and providing leadership to the field team.
Responsibilities
- Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
- Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations
- Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules
- Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects
- Track and report financial aspects of the project
- Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations
- Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents
Requirements
- 3+ years experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
- Experience in aerial fiber construction
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
- Strong organizational and planning skills
Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
Nice to Have
- Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline
