About This Role

Produce end-to-end fiber optic networks, ensuring high-quality service and maintaining safety standards for a telecommunications company. This role involves developing new skills and helping expand technology within the community.

Responsibilities

• Produce end-to-end fiber optic networks
• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and resolve challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Prep fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning
• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter
• Apply fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Requirements

• Safety-minded approach to work
• Track record of completing work with high quality
• Ability to figure out hard problems with a hands-on approach
• 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
• Comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
