About This Role

This role involves executing failure analysis and materials testing projects, with responsibility for planning, executing, and reporting findings under senior engineer oversight. The engineer will conduct inspections and evaluations on various systems and components, utilizing engineering consulting principles to solve technical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Execute failure analysis and materials testing projects with oversight from senior engineers
  • Support the planning, executing, and reporting of projects
  • Conduct inspections, failure analysis, performance assessments, and evaluations on a wide variety of systems and components
  • Manage simple failure analysis and component testing projects
  • Support senior engineers in executing Risk Assessments like Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Utilize advanced data analytics to integrate failure analysis and testing results into asset management strategies
  • Utilize engineering consulting principles, expertise, and scientific methods to identify, diagnose and solve technical problems
  • Independently perform routine engineering analysis and lead in determining scope, schedule, budget and resources
  • Prepare cost and materials estimates for client bid proposals
  • Complete multiple projects concurrently, prepare tests and studies, and evaluate performance of parts, assemblies or systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (materials, mechanical, or electrical engineering)
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Familiarity with materials testing concepts, theories, practices, methods, techniques
  • Understanding of typical material failure modes and verification with NDE and destructive examination techniques
  • Experience with testing electrical components rated above 60 Volts, mechanical assemblies, and related materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with emphasis in a discipline related to assignments (i.e., materials, mechanical, or electrical engineering, etc.)
  • 3 years of related experience
