Manage critical facilities in a data center environment, ensuring continuous operation of all systems and overseeing a team of Facilities Supervisors and Operating Engineers. This role involves developing maintenance plans, identifying safety hazards, managing budgets, and providing technical support for facility projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensure maintenance and continuous operation of all data center systems including fire/life safety, mechanical, electrical, cabling, lighting, and digital systems
- Develop, review, and approve Critical Environment work efforts and Mission Critical Statements for assigned facilities
- Manage critical environments team including hiring, training, and personal development
- Identify and remediate safety hazards within the data center, implementing and administering a safety training program
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines related to data center infrastructure operation
- Develop CAPEX and OPEX plans for infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacements
- Provide technical input and support to facility projects and modifications
- Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation, including data center drawings and schematics
- Oversee activities of contractors working within the data center
- Prepare and report on KPIs to track team performance
- Provide overall facility services in accordance with standard processes and procedures
- Execute staff succession and growth plans and build actionable career development plans for direct reports
Requirements
- Hands-on experience working in a data center/critical facility, including UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgears
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 7-10 years of engineering experience or equivalent industry experience
- 5-7 years supervisory experience
- Moderate knowledge of a variety of manual trades
- Ability to use drawings, specifications, shop math and various measuring or testing instruments
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Access, or capability to develop proficiency
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 7-10 years of JLL engineering experience or equivalent industry experience, with 5-7 years supervisory experience
