Facility Maintenance Technician

About This Role

Maintain the Decatur, AL facilities to ensure they are functional and safe. This role involves comprehensive maintenance of buildings and grounds, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, with 24/7 on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds
• Conduct inspections on equipment, fire, and safety systems
• Implement preventative maintenance plans and agreements
• Manage janitorial services, utilities, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security card access, and landscaping
• Oversee vendors, contractors, projects, and repairs
• Monitor and optimize HVAC-energy management systems, including filter changes and unit cleaning
• Perform weekly/monthly/yearly inspections of the fire system, including alarm panels and extinguishers
• Inspect and test run the generator/transfer switch weekly
• Conduct weekly checks on building lighting and electrical systems as needed
• Manage access controls as needed
• Maintain grounds, including parking lot, lighting, and cleaning
• Perform landscaping tasks such as cutting grass and weed eating
• Conduct daily janitorial inspections, including bathrooms
